A set of impressions from locations in Thailand at the time of the Chinese new year. Doi Mae Salong and Chiang Rai close to the border to Myanmar, Chiang Mai with its omnipresent air traffic noise and lively walking markets, and the relaxed atmosphere in a family garden in rural Phrae


(Chiang Mai)

Chiang Mai Hotel. Early morning. Air conditioning. Instant coffee. Field recording. Outside planes. A bicycle in the air. Light, repetitive rhythmic piece.

Night Market. Streets of Chiang Mai. Crowded walking market with a band and many meatball stands. Dinner on the street, Planes, cars, mopeds, people, people. Repetitive track with a house beat. The applause is stolen from the live band. Not ours.

Department Store. Purchasing a SIM card for a nerdy phone and young service personnel in suits guessing what it is. After that, Sushi. Quite dynamic yet repetitive techno track like most of them.


(Chiang Rai)

Behind The Temple we were sitting on the stairs to another pagoda. Catching the wind bells and the shop keepers and german tourists. It is a small temple. This is the most chaotic track of this compilation, albeit monotonous and repetitive like all of the pieces. My favorite.

Guan Yin
On a hill overlooking the landscape sits a giant statue of Guan Yin. Elevator ride to level 21, shepherd dogs in the column hall below the majestic figure. Inevitability of the call to spend 200 BAAT on Pink Envelope Lottery cards. Arrival of the tourist car to drive us back down to the temple, French tourists. Monotonous, repetitive drone with a house beat.

Doi Mae Salong. The morning of Chinese New Year. Balcony of the hotel looking down into the valleys. Long monotonous drone. Full of birds, turkeys, traffic and construction noises from all over the slopes of the mountain.

Self titled. Sunny backyard after breakfast. Fish pool. Coconut trees, cactus and flowers garden, water, family.


All fieldrecordings made with mobile ZOOM H6. All music recorded live multitrack after patching the analog modular synthesizer. Mostly nonlinearcircuits brand modules (diy) with focus on chaos, randomness and noise. also 4ms, bartonmusicalcircuits, manhattan analog, music thing modular, hexinverter . net to name a few.
